What is Passiv Haus?

Passiv haus is a building standard for low energy building, which can help ensure buildings reduce ecological footprint and use around 75% less energy, with over 30 years of evidence.

With Passivhaus adopting a whole-building approach with measured targets and focused on high-quality construction, certified through a quality assurance process, this is becoming a very popular requested from our clients. With a focus on Passivhaus buildings providing a high level of occupant comfort using very little energy for heating and cooling which supports health and wellbeing. There are essentially 5 main points to consider for achieving passivhaus standards:-

• Air tight building construction
• Eliminating thermal bridging
• Mechanical heat recovery ventilation (MHRV) & efficient heat control
• High performance window spec
• Quality and high level of  insulation
